MOTC was founded to highlight and build upon the long tradition of Americans who courageously stand up to hate. Telling the stories of those who stand up to hate—celebrating those acts of courage and modeling that behavior—unlocks the potential in all of us to stand up to hate. When we stand for one another, we strengthen ourselves and our country.

Launched in 2019, MOTC is building the largest collection of stories about individuals standing up to acts of hate based on race, color, religion, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, and ability. These stories show that even small actions can change the course of history and influence others to stand up.
